The Middle Spoon occupies two distinct spaces. There’s the main floor — a warmly lit cocktail bar and dessert restaurant designed for evenings that linger. And beneath it, Noble: a secret 1920s speakeasy, previously named one of Canada’s Top 50 Bars. Password-protected. Candlelit. Unforgettable. Both are available for private hire. Together, they offer something Halifax cannot offer anywhere else.

How Your Guests Arrive
Guests arrive at 1563 Barrington Street and are welcomed into The Middle Spoon. Those heading to Noble receive the evening’s password at the door, then are guided discreetly downstairs — through the working kitchen, down dim hallways, and finally to a large, heavy blast-style door. Behind it lies a hidden world of vintage elegance, world-class cocktails, and a room that feels like a secret from the moment you step inside.

Booking Details
What to expect when you reserve your space.
50% Deposit
A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your date and space. The remaining balance is due on the day of your event.
Minimum Spend
All bookings are subject to a food and beverage minimum spend, which varies by space and day of week. Weekends carry a higher minimum.
Room Rental Fee
If your event does not reach the minimum spend, a room rental fee will apply in its place. This covers the reservation of the space.
Credit Card on File
A valid credit card is required on file for all private event bookings. This is held for incidentals and any charges beyond the deposit.

Once your event is confirmed, you’ll get access to our private events menu — a dedicated planning tool to personalise every detail in advance.
